Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, exceeded only by lung cancer. The chance that breast cancer will be responsible for a woman’s death is about 1 in 33 (3%). In 2006, about 40,970 women and 460 men will die from breast cancer in the United States. Death rates from breast cancer have been declining. These decreases are believed to be the result of early detection and improved treatment.Become breast cancer smart if you dont know the risks signs and symptoms take a few minutes it may just save your life and what a precious life it is!

EARLY DETECTION YOUR BEST CHANCES

It’s a fact: getting tested regularly for breast cancer is the best way for women to lower their risk of dying from the disease. These screening tests can find cancer early when it’s most treatable. The earliest sign of breast cancer is usually an abnormality that shows up on a mammogram before it could be felt. This is why early detection is your best fight for life and survival.Dont think breast cancer only affects women men get it too.

SURVIVAL

The 5-year survival rate for localized breast cancer has increased from 72% in 1940 to 97% today. If the cancer has spread regionally, however the rate is 77%, and for women with distant metastases the rate is 22% survival after a diagnosis of breast cancer continues to decline beyond 5 years.69% of women diagnosed with breast cancer will survive 10 yrs, and 57% will survive 15 years< making early detection your best bet for survival.
